Practical teaching. Real music.
Experienced, patient guidance from the same guitarist every week.

Music first. Always.
Riff City lessons are taught by an experienced New Zealand guitarist who studied jazz guitar at Massey University and has extensive playing, songwriting and recording experience.
Your teacher has played with members of Fat Freddy’s Drop, The Black Seeds and TrinityRoots.
That practical performance background informs lessons focused on musicianship, listening and making complete music.
A patient, practical approach
Lessons are centred around making real music. Technique, theory and ear training matter when they help you play with more freedom, understanding and confidence—not as boxes to tick.
Every lesson is taught by the same person. Students are not passed to a rotating tutor, and the learning relationship can develop from week to week.
